jkidphilly Community Programming

By Lori Rubin, Director, Family Engagement  It was a beautiful day on Sunday, August 2nd at the Elmwood Park Zoo. Over 220 jkidphilly friends attended our 3rd annual jkidphilly Goes to the Zoo program! The sun was shining as families walked around the zoo looking for the animals featured on our Treasure Hunt, which listed 10 animals and their Hebrew names. As our jkidphilly Venturer theme this week is Bikkur Holim (visiting the sick,) we offered a variety of activities that helped our jkids understand how they could participate in this mitzvah. jkids had the chance to make "Boo-Boo Bunnies" or "Boo-Boo [...]

Launching The Berger Synagogue Network Cohort 5!

The Harold and Renee Berger Synagogue Network for  Families with Young Children was established in 2008. The Berger Network was developed to allow Jewish Learning Venture to encourage and support congregations to develop and implement significant, systemic approaches to attract and engage Jewish families with young children in their congregations and into Jewish life. In addition to launching specific initiatives, the Berger Network was designed to create a process framework that would create long-lasting changes in the congregation.

PJ Library – On the Move…

Members of our Family Engagement staff are attending the National PJ Library Conference this week in Baltimore. There they will learn about successes and challenges and benefit from networking with hundreds of other PJ Library professionals.
