“Praying with Lior” is the remarkable story of Lior Liebling’s Bar Mitzvah. Lior, a young man with Down Syndrome, will speak about his Bar Mitzvah and his life since at a program that will include a screening of this touching movie at Or Hadash, a Ft. Washington Reconstructionist synagogue, on Sunday, March 5, 2017, from 1:30 to 3:30. The program by the synagogue’s Inclusion and Adult Education Committees will include comments by Candy Wiater of JCHAI where Lior now lives, who will explain the services this organization provides to Jewish adults with disabilities. The movie, created by Ilana Trachtman, looks at the preparation and Bar Mitzvah service and celebration for Lior, once called ‘The Little Rebbe’.
The program is free for OH members and $5.00/person for the public.
