Description: Dr. Salzer will speak on: “Welcoming and embracing those with mental health issues at Congregation Kol Ami” Dr. Salzer is a psychologist and Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the College of Public Health at Temple University. He is also the Principal Investigator and Director of the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion of Individuals with Psychiatric Disabilities (www.tucollaborative.org), a rehabilitation research and training center funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research since 2003. Dr. Salzer is an internationally-recognized expert on inclusion of individuals with significant mental illnesses and has trained numerous faith leaders and communities on strategies for creating welcoming and embracing congregations.
