Saturday night, jkidphilly participated in the Bucks County Night of Learning, connected to the 5th annual Global Day of Jewish Learning which included 400+ communities in 40+ countries. Across the globe, families with young kids just like our jkidphilly families explored the value of ometz lev, courage of the heart. Our jkidphilly families learned about the concept through the story of Noah’s Ark in the PJ Library book Noah’s Bed. In the story, Noah’s fictional grandson Eber helps Noah prepare the ark and gather all the animals. He is very excited to do so, but once the storm comes he gets a little frightened and ends up needing to crawl into bed with his grandpa Noah and grandma Norah. Through this fictional retelling, our jkidphilly families explored ways to have courage in their lives and made courage plaques to bring the value of omez lev into their homes every day.
