In celebration of Rosh Hodesh (the beginning of a new Hebrew month), Jewish Learning Venture staff get together to lunch and learn as a group. Each month a different staff member takes on the role of “teacher” and brings something that they enjoy learning, or teaching, about to share.

Most recently, our staff took time to study the evening prayer, recited every evening, that recognizes the movement of time; the rolling of light into darkness, the seasons into each other, and so on. Through traditional text, poetry and photographic images, we talked about the passing of time and then created our own interpretations of the prayer using nothing more than construction paper, crepe paper and glue.

As a staff we recognize the need to take a break from our work and participate in opportunities for personal growth and community building.
