jkidphilly Grandparent Ambassador
Hey Grandparents! Looking for a Fun, Flexible Way to Connect with Your Community?
The jkidphilly team at Jewish Learning Venture (JLV) is looking for a jkidphilly Grandparent Ambassador to help bring Jewish traditions and fun to other grandparents and families in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Here’s what it’s all about:
- Make Connections: Chat with other Jewish grandparents over coffee, organize small gatherings, and help everyone feel welcome.
- Plan Get-Togethers: Host monthly meetups and intergenerational events where you can connect with grandkids and families through Jewish holidays, traditions, and values.
- Share the Fun: Help other grandparents plan Jewish-themed gatherings with “Get Together Grants” and show them how easy it is to create meaningful memories.
- Be a Resource: Be a go-to person for Jewish grandparents in your community, whether it’s through a phone call, text, or a friendly meetup.
- Track the Impact: Keep a simple log of your activities and share ideas with us to help grow the program.
The Details
- Part-time & Flexible: Fit this around your life – it’s not a 9-to-5 job!
- Supportive Team: You’ll work with the jkidphilly team and have everything you need to succeed.
- Get Paid!: Earn a $5,000 stipend (or $3,000 each if you want to do this with a friend) PLUS additional budget to cover program materials and supplies.

jkidphilly Connector
Overview:
jkidphilly Connectors are volunteer leaders who bring together Philly-area families with kids ages 0-8 to connect through fun and meaningful Jewish experiences. Whether it’s for a specific neighborhood or an affinity group, Connectors help families build community by creating relationships, sharing resources, and hosting gatherings that highlight the most personally inspiring parts of Jewish life.
Qualifications:
- Successfully hosted one gathering through the PJ Library Grant in the current academic year (September-August)
- Scheduled one hospitality-focused conversation with the jkidphilly director or PJ Library director.
- Completed this inquiry form.
- Is the primary parent or caregiver of at least one child between the ages of 0-8.
- Lives within one of the counties of jkidphilly’s catchment area (Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, and Chester Counties).
Responsibilities:
- Host four community programs centered on Jewish family experiences, with reimbursement provided (up to $1,000 for all four programs).
- Check in with the jkidphilly director, or assigned member of the jkidphilly team, before and after each program.
- Promote gatherings as jkidphilly programs, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all.
- Collect attendee information (name, email, affinity groups, PJ Library subscription status).
- Capture and share at least three photos per event.
- Attend 2-3 Family Influencer training sessions during the year, provided by the staff of Jewish Learning Venture.
- Build a supportive community of families and connect them to relevant Jewish community resources (such as congregations, educational programs, and interfaith resources).
