I am proud to be a TAP teen because I am able to help give kids an experience that they wouldn’t necessarily be able to get otherwise. When a child has special needs or a learning disability it isn’t easy for them to get a Jewish education. As a TAP teen I am able to give those kids the help they need to gain a Jewish education.
I have learned a lot about working with kids with special needs and learning disabilities through this program. The kids I am helping aren’t any different than any other kid. They just see things differently and therefore need to be taught things a little differently. It’s a great feeling to figure out a way to help a kid learn something that they have had trouble with and the TAP program has provided me with the skills to recognize what might help a child and then execute those ideas. I am glad that I chose to be a TAP teen.
