Meeting Students Where They Are: My Growth as a Madricha

I started volunteering at BTBJ as a Madricha after I became a Bat Mitzvah in 2024.  TAP has helped me grow as a leader in the classroom and has taught me a lot about working with children.

This year I am working in a class with second graders.  I have learned to be more patient and find ways to help them learn to meet their needs.  TAP has taught me that every student learns differently. I try to listen to the students and help them find ways to stay focused and on task in the classroom.

I really like working with children and teaching them about the Jewish holidays and how to read Hebrew.  This program has given me an opportunity to understand the students better and give them the learning experience they deserve.  I hope that I will be able to continue using these skills as I hope to work at BTBJ through my high school career.
