Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, more commonly known as ADHD, is a chronic condition that limits one’s ability to pay attention. It can also increase hyperactivity and impulsiveness. Roughly 10% of children in the United States have ADHD. Though ADHD has its disadvantages, it can also be a superpower. Many individuals diagnosed with ADHD have been known to be very creative and intuitive. Additionally, people with ADHD are able to form hyper fixations, which allow them to focus extreme amounts on certain skills or subjects. Through this, they can develop intelligence on particular topics quicker, and more efficiently.

There are several celebrities with ADHD who are known for their devotion to their craft. A select few include Michael Phelps, Simone Biles, and Emma Watson. Through taking advantage of their hyper fixations, Olympic athletes Michael Phelps and Simone Biles were able to master their sports. Similarly, Emma Watson has become a successful actress and activist. She even graduated from Brown University, a prestigious ivy-league school, in 2014. Overall, though ADHD may be known as a disability, it can often be a superpower for those who are affected by it as well.
